Just the Facts for LPN's

1.Most nursing home residents (60%) are demented.
2.Most assisted living facility residents (40%) are demented.
3.Many older home health recipients are demented.
4.Many homebound elders are taking the wrong medication.
5.Dementia prevents a patient from reporting symptoms to the nurse.
6.Medication compliance becomes a problem with demented residents.
7.Demented patients may forget the basics of wound care and hygiene.
8.Demented persons have problems with diabetic compliance and diet.
